     Oxygen-acetylene gas cutting is a time-honored process. Gas cutting does not require an electrical source or compressed air supply, and gas cylinders come in a variety of sizes—from small portable bottles to shop size oxygen and acetylene supply systems.

     Despite the growing popularity of plasma cutting and even laser equipment, gas cutting remains a highly useful tool. We find gas cutting equipment at automotive shops, on field service trucks, in auto recycling operations and throughout the metal fabrication industry.

Setting up the oxygen-acetylene cutting torch

     Gas cutting can be portable, a quick solution for severing metal. The torch and cutting head are set up promptly. In minutes, metal can be shaped for welding.

     We tote the magazine’s Honda XR350R and XR500R motorcycles on this two-bike trailer. The jack post required a new, more functional wheel assembly, which prompted the project in the HD video.
