Despite the economy and industry-wide setbacks, Chrysler Group’s Jeep® engineering staff outdid itself for 2012. The new Jeep JK Wrangler offers an all-new powertrain, sweeping design changes plus new levels of comfort and ride quality.
Important to Jeep Wrangler buyers is the continued promise of utility, ruggedness and 4WD off-road capability. While the Grand Cherokee takes owners to the height of luxury and ride quality, the JK Wrangler can face the roughest 4×4 trails on the planet!
For 2012, the Wrangler delivers better on-road performance and handling than any previous Jeep utility model. Fuel efficiency has improved with the new powertrain, despite a 40% increase in horsepower and 10% more torque. In driving impressions, the most noticeable change is the new A580 five-speed automatic transmission option with the 3.6L Pentastar V-6.
This video introduces the 2012 features and design objectives. Rick Deneau, Head of Brands Sales for Chrysler Group, LLC, kicks off the program. Chris Ellis, Head of Jeep® Marketing, sets the stage for Brian Nielander and Ray Durham, who each participated in the design changes and performance improvements found on the 2012 Jeep JK Wrangler models.
