Raising the Roof on a New Recreation Space in Georgia FACT: Getting outdoors is great for everyone. It feels innate to know that nature is good for both body and soul, but an ever-growing body of research backs it up. Thanks to our partners, Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative and the USDA Forest Service, we’re building an all-new recreation space on the Chattahoochee National Forest where people can rest, replenish, and enjoy each other’s company while in the great outdoors.

We’re building a new pavilion and installing other recreation amenities – from grills to a loading ramp – adjacent to the Satterfield Trailhead, one of two trailheads to access Beasley Knob OHV Trail System in northern Georgia. We’re also building new informational kiosks so visitors can learn about the trail system, the biodiversity of the area, and how to recreate responsibly. All of this will support the ongoing efforts of the Georgia Bounty Runners 4WD Club, which has worked tirelessly to care for the area and has been doing it since 1996.

We’re rallying volunteers to complete and celebrate this enhancement project on Saturday, September 23, which happens to be National Public Lands Day 2023.

If you’re going to be in the area, you’re welcome to stop by and lend a helping hand. Gloves will be provided! Get all the details here.
