Part 1: Real-time comments as Moses Ludel drives the trails from Camp Wamp back to the highway in a new 2012 Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4×4!
(Can be viewed at full-screen and set for 1080P quality!)
Note: This HD video footage is a GoPro™ camcorder creation. The GoPro™ videocam offers great resolution quality (1080P). Unfortunately, the benefits of a GoPro™ were offset by our use of an inappropriate mounting point for the GoPro™ unit—on the driver’s door window glass, using angled extension brackets and a suction cup…The cam shook, and the window glass created a reverberating, rattling sound on any kind of washboard or bumpy road…This gives the impression of a ‘rattling Wrangler’. In fact, the JK Wrangler hardtop model proved remarkably quiet and free of any rattles!
We considered scrapping this footage but believe the narration is worth sharing…As for using a GoPro™, here’s some advice: For viewing angle, mount the unit at a solid, central position in the vehicle (a roll bar works well with the optional bar clamp)—to avoid vibration and rattle, use the least amount of extensions and brackets…You can bet that we will when it’s time to use a GoPro™ or similar videocam!—Moses Ludel
4WD Mechanix Magazine publisher Moses Ludel accompanied members of local 4WD clubs as they volunteered their time, vehicles and fuel to the Camp Wamp cause…Transport duties increase with this special group of kids. Combined with the testing of a showroom-fresh Jeep 4WD, Moses shares four-wheeling insights and additional details about the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4×4.
