The Warrior Built Foundation…
Veteran Mark Davis (shown here) receives a surprise gift from Nick Hamm and Mobility Made Fun. In this live coverage by the Warrior Built Foundation, learn more about Mark’s needs and the responsiveness of the Warrior Built Foundation and Mobility Made Fun.
1st Sgt. (Ret) Nick Hamm and I met at the 2013 Lucas Off-Road Expo at Pomona. Our friendship began while Nick was active duty in the United States Marine Corps. He was organizing a Baja 1000 run with a Honda CRF450 motorcycle to be ridden by Jessie Williamson. Jessie, a combat Vet and double amputee, would ride the bike without special equipment. (See coverage.)
Nick Hamm founded the Warrior Built Foundation for combat Vets. I had the privilege of attending Nick’s full retirement ceremony at Camp Pendleton, California. Since then, Nick’s leadership skills and determination have focused on Vets and the organization’s shop and projects at Lake Elsinore. In addition to a respite for Vets, the hands-on automotive shop projects include building and racing off-road motorcycles and buggies. Combat Vets have competed and pitted in challenging off-road races like the Baja 1000 and the Best in the Desert ‘Vegas to Reno Race. But there’s far more to The Warrior Built Foundation’s efforts. In this video, Nick Hamm and John surprise Vet Mark Davis with a life-changing Mobility Made Fun tracked wheel chair.
The Warrior Built Foundation serves Vets in a variety of ways. Partnering with Mobility Made Fun provided this special gift opportunity for Mark Davis. The video shares the needs of one Vet and his gratitude for the thoughtfulness and caring sponsors who understand Veterans’ needs.
