Pentastar 3.6L VVT 24-valve V-6

Wrangler breakthrough for 2012 was the 24-valve 3.6L VVT Pentastar V-6. This engine provides major performance gains and better fuel efficiency than the predecessor 3.8L V-6.

3.6L Pentastar raises horsepower, torque and usable power in the new Jeep Wrangler!

The Pentastar produces more torque by 2000 rpm than any other Jeep utility model since the 4.2L inline six! Quick torque rise means improved off-road, stump pulling power.

Latest A580 five-speed automatic transmission for the Wrangler and other Jeep models

Newest Wrangler automatic transmission option is the five-speed A580. This transmission pairs up well with the 24-valve, VVT Pentastar 3.6L V-6!

Highway performance gains are substantial with the 3.6L Pentastar V-6.

Most notable gain for 2012 is on-highway performance. The JK Wrangler now has more “get up and go” at highway and passing speeds, largely due to the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine and improved transmission options.
